Film - Role Models

My wife has just walked in from her day at the races (Haydock). She is drunk but happy drunk which is good in one way but also means I'm going to get waffled at for about the next 2 hours. Anyways in her own inimitable style she was talking crude to her friends at the track (they are all the same. I dont want to make out its just the wife. Trust me shes not the worst.) Anyway she had to explain to one of the women what a 'twitching starfish' was. And it reminded me of another movie - Role Models.

'Tell her you wanna see her whispering eye'

Personally I found this movie hilarious and especially one scene. Whispering eye. For those who haven't seen it, its for me was one of the funniest punchlines and reactions I've seen on screen for some time. When I watch comedies you sometimes see a chemistry that you can tell continued when the cameras stopped rolling. This was one of those movies.
See it.

Film - Inception

Saw this about a week ago and enjoyed it immensely. Went with my brother John straight after work one night.
The acting was first rate and the action sequences were nothing short of spectacular. The story itself really worked for me and it also got into my head for about two days after. I know the same happened to John. He rang me the following day and said he'd had a dream where the characters from the film were in his dream. His girlfriend also contacted me via FB and said he was going to sleep at night whilst listening to the soundtrack............I've said enough.....!!
But the film was excellent and I would definitely see it again plus recommend it to anyone.

Film - Star Trek

Boldly better?
Watched this a few nights ago and to be honest I was in two minds about it. Never really liked original Start Trek, I was much more about NG and Voyager.
But I really enjoyed the reboot and as action movies go this was pretty good. You may have noticed I dont really review the movies I watch, I'm no critic and I think that critics talk a lot of horseshit half the time, based on personal preference. These are just really extra Blog entries and reminders of what Ive watched.

Film - Inglorious Basterds

Tarantino back on form
Great great movie. I missed it at the cinema which I was dissapointed about, so I had been waiting impatiently for it to be released on DVD. Pitt was excellent but even better was the performance of Christoph Waltz, who plays Colonel Landa of the SS.

Film - The Hangover

Super funny
Watched this on Boxing Day with the family. Great movie and had some very funny moments. The largely unknown cast actually enhanced the movie as you had no preconceptions about the characters.
We'll worth viewing.

Film - Public Enemies

Better than Heat?
Just spent the last couple of hours watching Johnny Depp and Christian Bale line up against one another in Michael Mann's latest. I enjoyed it but I think I've seen better. Still a great movie though.
