October 11th

As usual I havent been on here for a very long time. I really do need to find some consistency and start writing here....
I'm using my new iPad keyboard and its working pretty well. Now I really have no excuses.....

The Weekend

Massive amount of time since I've been here. Its Saturday morning and Im watching my 3rd World Cup game of the day Chile vs Australia. The wine is nearly finished and it must be time for bed. Seeing Ethan tomorrow but not sure what to do..... Looking forward to spending the day with my two loves, him and Maja. x

Oblivion - starring Tom Cruise

Saw Oblivion last weekend at IMAX Printworks Manchester and really enjoyed it. It wasn't Cruise's finest performance nor was it a groundbreaking story but the cinematography was amazing, as were the special effects.
I think one of the problems for this movie was the trailers showed too much of what was happening in the movie. To be honest there are not many trailers these days that don't show too much. Whilst it will fail at the Box Office in America, mainly due to opening after the terrible and shocking events in Boston (which kept many movie going Americans at home), it actually deserves to do well. I also think that the English critics made it out to be much worse than it is. But they get paid for their comments where as for me - watching movies is just for fun!
Its 2077 and Jack Harper (Cruise) is a security repairman on a devastated worn torn earth. He has only two weeks left of his mission when a ship containing Olga Kurylenko crash lands and changes everything.....
I'll not add anymore than that except that if you want a piece of sci-fi to liven up your weekend then check it out :) if you can see it in glorious IMAX then all the better!!!

Easter Sunday

Well it finally looks as though my broadband connection is working properly again. I'm blogging from the garden whilst Ethan in on the trampoline and having fun in the sun.
Its great to be on holidays...........

Procrastination

Its like.......the easiest thing in the world.........I love its sweet embrace, like an old friend.  DAMN!! I really need to study and finish my assignments!!

Study Leave

I didn't realise work had become so stressful. Well I did - But didnt notice the difference until I was out of the rat race for a few days.
I'm on study leave for 3 days and its nice just to work without anyone mithering, talking shit to you and basically making your day that little bit worse.
So anyways...I am working to a timetable and that timetable does not include 'Blog Time'. Off to study......

Rare Deed 001

So here it is......The first deed. Some of these may not be for the faint of heart or the sensitive. At times they may include bodily fluids at other times not......Each deed is a pub story. Something you tell when your with your mates, brothers, relatives (as long as its one of the clean stories) and occasionally I tell the wife......
IRB  - this ones for you...............
It was a night around the local town, there had been much drinking and merryment. Eventually we had fallen into one of the more sleazy 'clubs' which was called 'Chaplins'. We had been in there a while and we were all in good spirits, one of the guys I was with, saw a girl with a unlit cigarette in her mouth. Never one to miss an opportunity for a knockback he sidled went up to the girl (with his lighter in his hand), and tried to put his arm around her shoulder and light the cigarette. As his arm was too short to reach her cigarette, the only thing he lit was the side of her extremely laquered hair....... In a dark dingy club nothing stands out quite like a 6 inch blue flame on the side of a womans head!

Be warned - Hairspray is flammable

In an instant he was patting out her hair and incredibly she thought it was some sort of courtship ritual and was actually laughing and smiling. I doubt she was still laughing the next morning when she looked in the mirror and realised one of her ears was now showing, where there should've been thick curls of brown hair..........
Me and our other two friends looked at the whole scene in horror expecting that at any second it would kick off, but it didn't.

 

 Gobsmacked!

She was fine and her mates were relaxed about it too. Once the pungent smell of burnt hair was thick in our nostrils we decided to drink up and head off...........

Just coming back online after being away for a very long while. Life is good and the family is fine. I am going to try and pick up some steam then get some writing done.
City are in the FA Cup Semi Final....against Utd......

So why have a Blog?

Well I was originally going to keep a diary but I am not a good writer really and get bored too quickly plus I wanted to share some of my stories.
Also I think it is sometimes therapeutic to get your thoughts down into words. Slowly over time you will be introduced to my family, friends, occasionally the past and definitely the present.
